Frequetly asked questions

Can I put my mug in the microwave?

Yes! All the pieces I make are microwave safe. Unless there is silver/gold on it, it's totally safe for your mug.

Is my mug dishwasher safe?

Technically, yes, however I would personally recommend minimizing it. Over time the high levels of heat that can happen in the dishwasher can wear down ceramics, specifically around handles and other delicate spots. Also some dishwashers get hotter than others, so theres really no telling if it would be totally safe. Use your own judgement and ask yourself if it's worth the risk.

Do you do commissions?

I do! However I'm limited to what I can do in terms of my abilities. The larger the piece, the trickier it is. To inquire about a commission please email me at highnoonpottery@gmail.com.

I chipped/broke my piece, can I fix it?

I varies depending on the break, but generally speaking, no. In order for ceramics to be considered food safe, you must have a glaze coating on the interior of the piece, and any time of glue you use to repair it would not be food safe. However if it is something you wouldn't be drinking from, it's for sure worth the try! I recommend gorilla glue (specifically for ceramics).

My piece is now broken, can I get a new one free of charge?

Unfortunately no. Due to ceramics being fragile and a slow process,  I am unable to replace broken pieces.
